Building and Managing a Strong Multicultural Team


Because individuals with different cultural backgrounds have very different cultural biases and predispositions, building and managing a multicultural team can be challenging. Culturally different team members can have very different thinking about being an effective member of a team. 

This can result in a variety of cross-cultural team obstacles such as culturally-different members having different perceptions on what makes a good team member; what is appropriate team participation and behavior; the appropriate way to share information; a reluctance to share information; different decision making approaches; the value of a team approach; and how to handle team disagreements. 

We enhance the value of this seminar by incorporating in the seminar a highly regarded Cultural Profile Report that enables team members to identify and understand their own unique Cultural Profile.  We also offer a Cultural Gaps and Barriers Report which identifies what significant cultural gaps and barriers an employee will have with the team members having a different cultural background.  It also recommends the adaptive behaviors they should follow when engaging with a culturally-different team member.
