The most powerful force which makes us “who we are” is the culture we grew up in. It is called our “native culture”.  

Culture is how we make sense of things.

Our “native culture” determines our values; beliefs; expectations; how we interpret; how we evaluate; how we think; how to respond to situations; and the rules of behavior we are to follow.

By our early twenties, we are very culturally programmed. In effect, we have a life-long cultural DNA and are culturally “hard-wired”. 

Most of us do not realize how culturally programmed we are ….until we meet people from different cultures.  Then, to mention a few examples, we find we are making cross cultural communication mistakes or are not able to develop rapport with someone from that different culture.

As a keynote speaker or seminar leader, Bill provides cultural competency training focused on key intercultural insights and solutions so that clients can overcome cross cultural differences.
