Whatever the cultural background of someone, they probably really only understand their own culture. They have not had cultural sensitivity training about the “Do’s” and “Don’ts” of being “culturally appropriate” with someone from a specific culture.
Unfortunately, they are trying to connect with someone from a different culture but doing so “cross-culturally blind“.
You will learn about key areas such as a culture’s values, beliefs, thinking, interpretations, expectations, behaviors, and the “Do’s” and “Don’ts” of their culture.
